Our History

From Catholic vision to national service

The idea of a Catholic university in Sudan was raised by Pope John Paul II in 1983 and encouraged again in 2003. The Sudan Catholic Bishops' Conference decided in 2007 to found the university, and CUoSS welcomed its first students in Juba in 2008.
